Tribulation @ Rituals
So being a native New Yorker I am addicted to caffeine it is the only way to get through the pollution and the people without going mad…daily!! Transported to the mudderland (Trinidad) I was so excited to find a coffeehouse selling the same expensive concoctions I was used to. Well the similarities end with the green and white logo, as the staff at Rituals-specifically the Western Main Road location-are proudly rude and disinterested in their job as barristers of the coffee bean.
On this morning in question I walked into the St. James location and stood in line behind two other patrons. First to begin both servers looked like if they were pissed that we deigned to bother them at 8 o’clock in the morning, so when the woman two places in front of me ordered her drink without saying good morning loudly enough for all of us to hear, the server gave her a loud ‘boof’ disguised as a good morning. The patron was visibly taken aback as were I and at least one other person who raised their head up from their newspaper to look in our direction in disgust. As the rest us of were properly forewarned about the server’s hoggishness we politely and loudly like good school children said a hearty good morning before ordering our drinks. (I don’t like boof) But wait folks the story does not end there because when it was my turn to order yours truly committed the unpardonable sin of changing my mind about what I wanted. Mind you, the cashier had not completed my transaction yet so she did not even have to void and do over. In spite of that, she gave me the nastiest look she could muster and accompanied it with ‘bad talking’ my indecisiveness with her co-worker while she fixed my drink. AS I am deathly afraid of something being done to food bought in public I stayed silent with a slightly mocking smile on my face that I know thoroughly annoyed her. Sigh…I’ve since pledged not to buy anything in that Rituals anymore, but if you have some of the bad mornings I have you would go back on your word too. I figure if I send my secretary I’m not really patronizing it…lol
Rituals please train your staff in quality customer service and conduct ‘fake customer’ investigations to maintain that quality.
